Dexter Dicostanzo: There is no act that brought the New Deal. This was the name given to the program initiated by FDR to bring Relief and recovery from the Great Depression. The most important person in his cabinet to get many of the programs he sought was Francis Perkins. She was the first female Secretary of Labor. Her recent biography is "The Woman Behind the New Deal".
