What will happen to small business if Obama gets elected? ?

Bailey Lares: With his ever changing tax base, first $300,000, then $250,000, then $200,000, then $150,000 and after Saturday it is down to $120,000 it is the small business owner that will be hit the hardest. They will NOT expand,or hire new people, and after a couple of years of being taxed to death-close. That means higher unemployment and higher taxes to pay unemployment. Higher taxes for all the new government programs that will be created in the new United Socialist States of America. But what the hell, we won't have to work and we can live in the government housing projects that Obama will create like those in Chicago. We can all meet in the welfare line and swap stories about how we walked their up hill in 6 feet of snow but are proud of our new Pres and new country. We may have to learn Arabic or some other off the wall language, but that's a small price to pay for change....Show more

Lino Cawthorne: Hopefully, he will do the same thing that Teddy Roosev! elt did: He'll try to give business back to the small businessman and woman. He'll send more military contracts to them, give them tax breaks instead of billion dollar tax breaks to the oil companies and mega-corporations.Roosevelt came in and broke up all the corporations and monopolies that were strangling out the small businesses. Not only do i think small businesses will do well under Obama, I think you'll see a lot more new start-up businesses. On a fair playing field there weren't be price fixing and fair competition breeds more fair competition. This is the way American capitalism should be....Show more

Toya Braskett: Why? do you own a small business? or looking for another cheap shot at Obama?

Curt Broadhead: Many small business owners have already said they are closing if Obama wins.

Fermin Tara: They will thrive. When the middle class has money to spend, small businesses benefit.

Rayford Latz: Aaaarggh! Wait and see! GEEEeezz! I'm tired of ! these Obama, McCain questions. Frig.Sorry, I had to. *sigh*

Loriann Carrigan: Small business will be a thing of the past if Obama becomes President.America will be a thing of the past when Obama and the NWO take over. The world will go on without America being a part of it.And we have only y'all to thank for because y'all voted for the empty suit with the Muslim name and a follower of Nation of Islam FarrakhanSo to all small business in America bye bye it's been fun....Show more

Tobie Oshea: Obviously small businesses will cease to exist!Along with the economy, morality and the good ol American dream!

Danica Timperman: I own a small business that is incorporated. My accountant has looked at his tax program.I am to the point now with all the taxes from the fed, state, county and city with this increase on my corporation and the increase in capital gains to 30% I am seriously considering closing the business and telling my employees good by and good luck.I hate doing that but it can not hang on barley meeting over head no! w and then drain the resources of the corporation just to pay the new tax bill. I would just be leading my employees on if I told them any differently....Show more

Jorge Detlefs: Same as big business. Taxes going up, profits going down.

Jorge Detlefs: They will do exactly what they have been doing for over 100 years. It sounds like your business has bad management... a small business has to anticipate changes with local, state and federal regulations and be able to adjust accordingly. If your business can not grow when 95% of the nation recieves a tax break then you have problems....Show more

Coleman Coscia: You don't have a small business. Let's get that cleared up right now.But as for prices: what prices will get raised? Who will raise them, and for what reason? And how do you think these purely speculative rises will be linked to Obama's policies? If you don't know the answer to any of those questions, then it seems that you're drawing conclusions bas! ed on nothing. If a business makes less than $250,000 profit per year, t! he tax rate will either stay the same or go down....Show more

Connie Dickirson: Smart business owners recognize that their competitors are being taxed too. The smartest are able to innovate and use it an opportunity and use it to their advantage. Taxation won't hurt a smart business ower.

An Cardine: I have a small business too. Taxes won't increase much (only 5%) so the GOP is making a big deal out of nothing. AND I'm glad to have the money to tax. Some friends of mine are getting thrown out of their homes and losing their apartments even though they never missed a payment. I'm glad Obama is thinking about them.

Refugio Gastineau: They will have to lay people off and in some cases will go out of business.

Coy Tapley: It seems that you are getting your info from conservatives. You will get a tax credit if you are a small business so you can survive in the economy. Also, your taxes would probably be lowered if you made less than $250000 a year.

Maria Bengston: prices goes up, the profits go down. and people get laid off, and some will just close shop for good.that will result in higher taxes from the city, to make up for the loss taxes businesses that close and the smaller sales figures.but that will encourage people to go out less and use less energy because we use to much of it, Spread the Energy...Show more

Bob Nakamoto: here in oklahoma that has just started to happen because they are so afraid obama will be elected The Michelin tire plant lost 230 people last week J&I lost 43 one other place just closed down and one went to four days a week. When we asked who our Boss who he was voting for , he said McCain if you want to keep your job. I have never drawn a day of unemployment in my life, or welfare food stamps no assistance, all I can say is I hope Obama taxes the democrats really well so I can stay in my home which Is paid for, And drive my new truck which is paid for, and get my share of ! the hard working democrats wealth. hahahahaha McCain 2008...Show more!

Jorge Gerrero: I have difficulty understanding your statement. If the population at large is doing well, your and any business will do well. If the cost of you doing business increases and your Taxes go up (only if you make more than $ 250.000.00 that is under Obama) you pass on the additional cost to the consumer. Why would you have to shorten hours and or lay off employees? That makes no sense at all.I majored in Economics and perhaps should teach you how to run a business....Show more

Glynda Darrin: I really feel your concern as I'm also a business owner. I haven't gotten to the level of having employees yet and hope to never face the worry that you attain. I feel that you should go to the source. The ping pong theory doesn't help if you can't depend on the truth. I advise you to call his campaign and ask. The lord says we have not because we don't ask. I voted for Obama because I feel he is the best canidate for the job considering our other choice ! McCain. Don't get me wrong I'm not against McCain, I just feel like Obama has more compassion on the multitude. Your employees will need you more than ever now to go directly to the source. Obama campaign, don't go by hear say, learn the facts. When you get it all straightened out don't forget to show your employees your gratitude send them one of our baskets.Hope this helps you!...Show more

Marita Stadick: It's all gonna be good! You have to trust the man! If someone makes 250K they should not worry, that's plenty of money! and if they make more than that, I don't think they are called small business anymore...

Keven Woodington: Tax relief for small businesses. See link below.

Jonie Lauria: I think that you have a very strong misconception of the facts or you're just plain ignorant. This question has been answered dozens of times and unlike McCain's replies it hasn't changed. Some how I see these questions as a cop out to justify the big businesses lay! ing off people and cutting wages to hold on to more of their money out ! of greed rather than necessity. I think that you do not have a small business. Normally business owners do their own research and obtain the facts before coming onto Yahoo Answers stirring things up because your panties are in a bunch because you disagree with Obama....Show more

Berry Gilmore: Small business will benefit the most from Obama's plans.

Mark Hovanes: Should be a tremendous improvement. You are a moron, and you need to stop talking to people with your ridiculous delusions. How old are you, stupid? Five? Six?...Show more

Jerrod Guilfoil: If you make 250,001.00 then you will get taxed severely. I guess you could always give that extra dollar to charity though.

Chris Rosenkranz: Many will be bankrupted by heavy taxation and skyrocketing inflation due to rising fuel costs.

Giovanna Cramblit: Don't worry sweetheart - it not will worst. But just remember vote for Obama.

Matt Gerdeman: there will be less small businesses started, mor! e will fail due to slower economy and higher tax burden (and I'm sure Obama will try to raise the minimum wage as another spread the wealth approach). Small biz MUST be healthy for the country to thrive, and Obama will demolish it.

Rick Duchane: Imagine you have your life savings tied up in a business. And you're shelling out 1250 / month in payroll for 200 hours of work. Raise the minimum wage by $2 and now you owe an additional $400 per month. 85% of small business go under in the first year. Not all make a lot of money. What would you do? Here are some choices: Fire someone Cut hours Go get a job at the post office and close up shop. This is the reality of the situation. Think about it.
