Verena Koop: Yes, you do graduate in! home schools, but how you graduate depends on how you home school. In CA, you can declare yourself a private school then go about learning however you want (via box cirrriculum, online schools, or other alternative ways of learning which may involve no cirriculum). If you are going through an online school, they will typically graduate you. But if you are just homeschooling on your own then the parent graduates the child (the parent is the private school administrator). It's the record keeping that can be difficult for families, becuase usually colleges need records of some kind, and that is where you probably will want to be in touch with your state homeschool association to get advice on how to prepare paperwork for college entry. It might help to know what you're planning after high school. If it's college, start investigating what colleges you like, and prepping for them according to their requirements.
