Fannie Collingwood: Yep. You can learn more about photography from a good manual camera that uses film. You concentrate more because you aren't shooting 1000 snapshots and hoping you get a good one. also if you get the right camera, you can take photos even if your battery is dead. Try doing that with a digital camera. I have a friend who was fishing in Canada, while out on a boat in a middle of a lake they saw some awesome scenery (animals etc.), His buddy's batteries went dead in his digital camera, my friend shot some great photos with his Pentax K 1000....Show more
Kenneth Queener: By manual, did you mean a film camera, or a digital camera with manual adjustments such as focus? I think a film camera is a waste, but you can definely learn a lot from a camera with lots of manual adjustments.
